Happy New Year's Eve!!
Happy New Year's Eve everyone! Thanks for all the Merry Christmas wishes- we had a great time with the family in Maryland. I hope you all had a great holiday, too! Now we're back in North Carolina and happy to be spending time with 'Daddy' again.
I seem to have "misplaced" the stick drive I keep Dobby picture updates on- here is a rather old one of the two of us until I find it :)

Day 7 (12 Days of Christmas)
We got Dobby a big, floppy teddy bear with squeekers in each paw for Christmas. I put it in his stocking, not guessing he would realize it's for him unless I showed it to him directly and got him excited about it... silly me. He immediately tried to get to it, the little rascal. It's now safe on top of the fridge.
Thank you all for the wonderful comments you've been leaving. I really appreciate it!

12 Days of Christmas
Today begins the twelve days before Christmas! I convinced Dobby to pose for some pictures, so I will be posting one each of the Twelve Days of Christmas. Today, though, I wanted to start by saying 'Thank You!' to everyone who has sent cards to us from DWB!! I even printed out some of the E-Cards we received. My card-tree (similar to this one) has never had so many great cards before! I'm not sure how many more will fit :)

100 Posts
This marks our 100th Post!! Thank you all for being such great friends. I've really enjoyed getting to know you through your blogs. What a great time to share what I'm thankful for this Holiday Season:
Family and Friends! Without them I would be no one going no where. Dobby, my little lover boy. My heart skips a beat when I come home to him every day. Jeremy, my full-sized lover boy. I smile just thinking of him. And all of the things that make me thankful for living the life I do- food on the table, heat in my home, a car and a job.
The Christmas tree is up, cards have started arriving, and the holidays are near! Thanks again everyone, for the good company all this time. Happy Holidays!

Christmas Cards!
Hey everyone! I'm finally sitting down to look through the DWB address list for Christmas cards- and find that some of my favorite blogs aren't there!
Attention everyone who is not on the DWB Christmas card list! Send me your address and you might get a nice Christmas card in the mail :) (See the end of the list of links to the right for my email address.)
(This means you, Fausto and Emma, Gizmo, Jemma, Tuffy, Daisy and Roscoe, Dozer, Frau Chloe, and anyone else who wants a card!)
An extra "Thank You" to Amy for organizing the card exchange!!
PS- On the DWB list, there is a typo in my address, # 71. The street number should be 622, not 633.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua
Well I finally saw the Chihuahua movie... and it was pretty good. My favorite part, of course, was when they were in Chihuahua with Montezuma and the other hundreds of Chihuahuas- so much cuteness! I was disappointed, though, that they chose a Doberman as the 'bad guy'. I don't really approve of perpetuating breed specific stereotypes... but I guess it was a "realistic" depiction. El Diablo was supposed to be a watch dog, and Dobermans make good watch dogs...?
I know this will never happen, but I'd love to see a movie where the 'good guy' is a Doberman, Pit Bull, whatever, and the 'bad guy' is a Lab or Golden Retreiver. Take THAT, stereotypes!

So much excitement!!
In all the excitement yesterday with the photo fun, I forgot to mention that it was Dobby's "Gotcha!" Day!! He has been with me now for 1 full year- and we are loving every minute. He's really adapted well to the house and life with me. I am very lucky to have found such a perfect little guy to adopt- he's well socialized and in perfect health. Here is the entry about how I first met Dobbs, and a reminder:

Dogs 101 This Weekend!
Animal Planet is doing a show called Dogs 101 that will premiere on Saturday at 8pm E/P- and they are featuring Chihuahuas in the first episode! :) They're going through a lot of breeds though, so everyone should watch it. From what I've heard, they will do 5 breeds per episode. In episode 5, they will feature the Doberman, and chose the famous Ramsey and Pablo to be the example of how breed-specific stereotypes aren't always true (good job, Animal Planet!)
Here is what Animal Planet has to say about their series:
"They have the courage to chase lions, the dignity to sit at the feet of royalty and some say even the smarts to read. They are the best companions of the human race—dogs and cats. This 10-episode series is the most comprehensive look at dogs and cats on television. The first eight episodes explore the most popular dog breeds, from the lovable French bulldog to the heroic Labrador retriever. Two cat episodes follow providing a complete picture of the amazing variety of cat breeds. With over 200 dog breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club, DOGS 101 will spotlight the adorable, the feisty and the unexpected. Does the St. Bernard have a sixth sense for predicting avalanches? Can the Whippet see in the dark? Which breed is still used today as a life guard? DOGS 101 uncovers surprising details about everyone’s favorite dog breeds from the Airedale Terrier to the Yorkie. Learn which dog breeds are best for urban living and which ones are most family friendly. Using a mix of animal experts, the personal stories of pet owners and stylized dog photography, DOGS 101 is an unprecedented look at man’s best friend. CATS 101 takes you inside the most popular feline breeds. From the nearly naked Sphinx to the adorable Scottish Fold, CATS 101 is a catalogue of the fascinating reasons we love cats."
